Rat Poison in Pet Food

Watch what you're feeding Fido and Fluffy. On the TIMES website, I researched a little more about something I heard about in the news last night. Apparently, in some pet foods, rat poison has been found. Who would be trying to poison rats in dog and cat food? I don't know. The wheat used in these foods was imported, and aminopterin could have been on the wheat. Menu Foods has recalled "cuts and gravy" style foods. Don't worry, though, because if you are unsure about your pet's health, just call one of the numbers Menu Foods has set up for worried consumers. You can call either (866) 463-6738 or (866) 895-2708. I'm not sure how this will affect Menu Foods, which makes food for store brands such as Wal-Mart and private companies such as Iams. Will we ever know what happened that caused this pet catastrophe? Maybe, maybe not. These foods have been distributed all across North America. Whatever the answer turns out to be, there will be a lot of angry people. I don't blame them. If my pet died from eating food, normally good, healthy food, I'd probably sue. On the news last night, when I first heard about this, I heard that one lady was so upset, she was trying to sue. But listen to this...they [the news] said something about how pets are considered property, so they aren't worth anything for their death and you wouldn't get as much money for one as you would for a murder case. I'd be sooooooooo upset if that happened to me and I couldn't get any $$ for my pet's death. I'm sure all the poor people this event has affected feel the same way.
